Welcome to Future Schools Trust (FST), an education provider that runs New Line Learning and Cornwallis Academies, Tiger Primary School, Little Learners Nursery and a large Sixth Form, in Maidstone, Kent.
FST is led by our Chief Executive Officer, Joshua Coleman, who works closely with our Headteachers and supportive Governing Body, which comprises of local business people and members of the local community.
FST was launched in 2007 when two former secondary schools merged together to become New Line Learning Academy, which then linked with Cornwallis Academy to form a new trust. In 2012, FST opened Tiger Primary School, which became the first primary in Kent to open under the Government’s Free School initiative. It was also Maidstone’s first new primary school in 25 years.
At Future Schools Trust, our purpose is to provide an all-through nursery, primary and secondary education that both serves and inspires the local community.
Our main aim is to ensure all of the young people in our care achieve outstanding progress and success, which is supported through our extensive curriculum and wellbeing provisions. Our curriculum meets the needs of all of our young people and reflects the wider economic environment, securing future employability.
Our purpose-built buildings were designed to inspire, with modern and interactive facilities, specialist learning environments and large communal spaces that encourage a sense of community spirit and engagement. We regularly review our sites to ensure they continue to serve a purpose and meet the ever-changing needs of our curriculum, students and staff.
To further enhance our education provision, we offer a variety of international trips and educational visits to allow our young people to broaden their education outside of the classroom. These opportunities provide young people with the responsibility to develop life skills and learn the importance British Values; democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of others.
At Future Schools Trust, we employ outstanding teachers and support staff, who share our vision and goals. Our team strives to motivate the young people in our care and deliver our inspirational curriculum with enthusiasm and determination.
Teaching and education is at the heart of Future Schools Trust but our team spreads beyond the classroom. We employ professionals who can offer a range of skills, including ICT, finance, maintenance, management and catering, to name a few.
We reward good performance, thereby encouraging staff commitment and retention, and we offer support and encouragement, as well as training opportunities. We are invested in the outcomes of our staff.
